Part of God's plan for you and your organization is to receive a Return on Investments (ROI) on your plans and effectiveness on earth. But He also wants a Return on Eternity (ROE). What we're doing on Earth will have an impact on eternity. In fact, that is where our mission and final destination lies. It says in the Word, "Whoever can be trusted with little can be trusted with much." (Luke 16:10)

That crystallizes the message of the Parable of the Sower, as well as the Parable of the Talents. It continues, "If you've not been trustworthy in handling worldly wealth, who will trust you with true riches?" In other words, if we're not on the right path, and we are not nourishing God's seed for His eternal purpose and calling, we will struggle in the rocky and thorny places (with or without the money).  Reference the book The Untold Secret that creates True Wealth.

The fact of the matter is, even if you don't know God, you can learn from your mistakes and gravitate to the things you're good at. Tom Watson, developer of IBM, said, "Good companies just make mistakes faster," and therefore, learn faster. Many of us have said to the Lord, "What is it that You are really trying to get me to do here? How do I do it? And, how do I do it effectively?" The moral of the story is: Do what you're called and entrusted to do.  If you sincerely trust Him to be leading you, He will work through you step by step.  He loves the journey, just like you love playing baseball and attend each game to cheer on your son.  He is there with you.

Even though God gave us free will, He is calling us to walk a deeper path and trusting us to accomplish His plan. No matter how tough it is or how big the test can be, God entrusts us to persevere through the whole journey in order to know true wealth. He is our source. The truth is, "No branch can bear fruit by itself; neither can a branch bear fruit unless you remain in me and my words remain in you." (John 15:4-5)

You may not even know God. However, it is possible to understand His ways of relationship capital and build a business success here on earth. The problem is, as they say, you can't take it with you. Without a relationship with God, you cannot get to heaven, even if you follow His principles for success on earth.  Bottom line, He is looking for the ROE.
