📄 The Parable of the Mustard Seed is referenced at least six times in scripture. Jesus said that “faith is like a mustard seed,” which even though 1 and 2 millimeters in diameter can become the biggest tree in the garden. The tree grows so large that it even provides places for birds to perch.
In Matthew 17:20, Jesus says, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can move mountains.”
Orville Redenbacher had faith that his special quality popcorn could be sold in more outlets than just his roadside stand in Indiana. He didn't realize that his dream would create a new industry. Mary Kay wasn't trying to create a giant company. Instead, she sought to exercise her faith in God that she could help other women after being dumped by her old company.
Ray Kroc wanted to save his hurting milkshake mixer business, not change the restaurant industry forever. It was a question of survival. Yet he had the faith and willingness to take the risk to visit the McDonald brothers halfway across the country in the 1950's.
Does the Lord want you to accomplish what seems to be a very small vision? Could what may be a simple idea become much bigger than you think? God can use you regardless of who you are or where you've been--whether you are a high school dropout or have a Master’s Degree in business. God is no stranger to performing miracles. If you don't believe me, go visit your local nursery and buy a pack of mustard seeds. Consider how something so small can grow so large. God can make His vision a reality in your life even if your faith is small like a mustard seed - not much bigger than a period on this paragraph.
